This hat was exactly as described. I bought it for my petite 8 year old. However, I returned it and bought her the adult size. I wanted something that she could continue growing with. She would have quickly grown out of the kids size hat. There is not much of a size difference, in my opinion, between the adult and kid sized hats. It is a fun hat and light weight.
